The Telecommunications Network Engineer shall analyze and develop telecommunications networks supporting a wide range of capabilities, including voice, data, video and/or wireless services to ensure the FBI Program networks are properly installed, configured and maintained.

Equipment Installation: Site Implementation of equipment shall include when necessary but is not limited to the following:

  • Overseeing, and supervising site implementation personnel
  • Installation of the infrastructures required for FBI Division support
  • Perform pilot testing for new project implementations
  • Support all activities throughout the implementation of FBI Program projects to include installation, and remote technical support
  • Implementation of network solutions related to network connectivity, specifically for locations with limited traditional telecommunications infrastructures

Site Survey: Site Surveys shall include, when necessary, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Survey and report on all critical infrastructures required to support site implementation of equipment
  • Determination of site current operational status and equipment condition
  • Timely alerts to the designated Government representative when additional hardware, software, or effort is determined as critical to maintain the availability, operation or performance of site functionality
  • Survey and document power and data cables to include type and length
  • Survey cooling and heating requirements for accommodation of technology equipment to support the FBI Program

Systems Development: Systems Development of existing and future video and networking systems in support of customer tasking shall include when necessary but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and evaluate new video systems as directed by the technical lead
  • Test new products in support of the customers tasking as directed by the technical lead
  • Complete comprehensive reports based on the findings of systems testing
  • Recommend updates, replacement, and removal of hardware/software in support of the customer tasking, and with direction of the technical lead

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • 7 - 10 years of applicable experience - experience may be considered with advanced education
  • Security+, preferred

Physical Demands

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Typically employees sit comfortably to do their work, interspersed by brief periods of standing, walking, bending, carrying papers and books, and extensive periods requiring the use of computer terminals to accomplish work objectives.

  • Lifting up to 35 lbs. 


  • Normally Monday - Friday
  • Scheduled Network Maintenance or emergency work may take place during off-hours and over weekends.

Standard Work Hours

  • Core hours: Eight-hour days between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

Travel Expectations

  • 15% - Travel to Alabama and West Virginia is possible.

Travel Schedule

  • Based on the needs of the government and to support the mission
