Overview

The Ammunition Specialists (Technical Logistician 1) will support U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Special Operation Command (MARSOC), at Camp Lejeune, NC. Hired candidates will perform a variety of duties associated with the accountability, handling, transportation and storage of a wide array of Arms, Ammunition & Explosives (AA&E).

Responsibilities

Careers Center - Ammunition Specialist

  • Safely handle, transport, and store all types of ammunition, explosives, missiles and toxic chemicals and other HAZMAT and inspect materiel to determine serviceability and need for repair or destruction.
  • Perform technical ammunition supply management tasks associated with retail level ammunition operations such as inventory management, requisitioning, transportation, storage, handling, issue, recovery, serviceability inspection / determination and all associated documentation.
  • Provide proactive and timely ammunition management support for all customer ammunition related requirements.
  • Perform daily interface with customer to understand and ensure fulfillment of all requirements.
  • Complete all functions and requested actions associated with the Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS) and other Automated Information Systems (AIS).

 

Qualifications

  • Must possess or be able to obtain an operators’ license for non-tactical/tactical Government-owned vehicles/equipment and certification to transport Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AA&E).
  • Able to pass work related AA&E “screenings” for personnel involved in the custody, maintenance, disposal, distribution, or security of Arms, Ammunition & Explosives (AA&E) per MCO 5530.14A Marine Corps Physical Security Program and MCO 8023.3B Personnel Qualification and Certification Program for Class V Ammunition Explosives.

Education & Experience Requirements

Careers Center - Ammunition Specialist

  • High School degree or equivalent required. Additional relevant higher education, certifications and/or military training is preferred.
  • Prior military experience with ammunition, preferred
  • Years of expereince
    • Level A equals 4 - 8 years, minimum
    • Level B equals 8 - 12 years, minimum

Physical Demands

  • Work is primarily performed in an office or workshop environment. Typically, employees sit comfortably to do their work, interspersed by brief periods of standing, walking, bending, carrying papers and books, and extensive periods requiring the use of computer terminals to accomplish work objectives.

  • Monday - Friday

Standard Work Hours

  • Core hours: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
