Overview

The Logistics Automated Data Systems Support Specialist will establish, maintain, and instruct on all Marine Corps, Joint, and coalition logistics support processes, computer applications, and systems in direct support of the Instructor Group.  Administer the Joint Deployments Logistics Model (JDLM) with the Battle Command Sustainment Support System (BCS3), Common Logistics Command and Control System (CLC2S), Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES), and the Joint Mission Planning System-Expeditionary (JMPS-E) to model the Naval Ship Laydown, Ship Loading, Ship-to-Shore movement,  Logistic Convoys, Supply Status, and future Logistical Plans across all aspects of small unit expeditionary, offensive, defensive, and stability operations.  Fulfill systems operator and response cell duties for Logistics agencies, higher headquarters, Naval units, and special operators in support of exercises and staff development as required.  Further, advance research and development of logistic model and simulation (M&S) system through iterative and close coordination with Program Offices. Collect training objectives, scenario scripts, and other exercise information from the MCTOG staff, exercise planners, logistic cell, and simulation members to develop the Logistic Common Operational Picture (COP) and Logistic Planning that exercise Regiment and Battalion logistic shops and COC processes.

Responsibilities

Provide subject matter expertise (SME) in the JDLM simulations, BCS3 C2 operating system, and Common Logistics Command and Control System (CLC2S) with inherent data base development employed by MCTOG.  In addition to having specific responsibility for Logistics Support systems, the Contractor shall posses a working knowledge of all pertinent automated C2 and information systems, and must be able to perform basic installation, maintenance, and instruction on specific C2 and information systems.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Install, operate, and maintain current and future logistic simulations and C4 systems.
  • Perform BCS3, CLC2S, ICODES, JMPS-E, and JDLM System Administrator duties to include database and system security management.
  • Develop and provide instruction for BCS3, CLC2S, ICODES, JMPS-E, and JDLM.
  • Provide technical advice to Information Management Officers, Exercise Control Cell, and Communication Division.
  • Recommend system upgrades and changes.
  • Periodically travel to conferences and/or systems courses.
  • Instruct on BCS3, CLC2S, ICODES, JMPS-E, and JDLM interoperability with respect to each C2 system.
  • Operate, provide instruction, and maintain various training to simulation models with respect to amphibious and logistics operations, and translate real world or fictional enemy and friendly force structures into an exercise simulation database.
  • Network and integrate logistic systems with other program of record and experimental applications / systems.
  • Assist in exercise product development using amphibious and logistic data systems.
  • Build current amphibious and Log data bases and repositories.
  • Perform as amphibious and logistic systems operator ISO exercises.
  • Perform as an amphibious and logistics response cell role ISO exercises.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of C2, information assurance, and information systems to include formal military instruction. 
  • Knowledge of military operations and organizations to include military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships.
  • Ability to research complex issues and develop comprehensive reports.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Possess self-motivation and a high level of discretion to work effectively under a minimum level of supervision.
  • Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree is required. Bachelor’s degree is desired.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience required in the following:
    • Operation
    • System Administration
    • Military training/education
    • DOD modeling and simulation, and demonstrated experience with MTWS, and other simulation models such as JDLM, ICODES, JMPS-E, JCATS, JSAF, OneSAF, CBS, or JTLS. C2: BCS3, CLC2S
  • Certifications per DODINST 8570 required:
    • CompTIA Network+
    • CompTIA Security+
  • Completion of a military level career school preferred, officer or NCO.
  • Real world operations participation in deployment and employment command and control methods and systems for ground combat, aviation, supporting arms, and combat service support units desired.

Physical Demands

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Typically, employees sit comfortably to do their work, interspersed by brief periods of standing, walking, bending, carrying papers and books, and extensive periods requiring the use of computer terminals to accomplish work objectives.

  • Monday - Friday

Standard Work Hours

  • Garrison work environment including but not limited to: 
    • occasional field/tactical environments 
    • occasional extended working hours will be required 
    • schedule: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm 

Travel Expectations

  • Travel is estimated to be up to 30%.

Travel Schedule

  • Domestic travel may be required for training and program coordination.
  • May be required to travel OCONUS to conduct installation, training or maintenance. Accordingly, a valid passport is required.
