The Maneuver Automated Data Systems Support Specialist will establish, maintain, and instruct on all Marine Corps, Joint, and coalition maneuver computer simulation applications and systems.  Further, ensure all of these systems are integrated and fully available to support MCTOG training exercises. Create a constructive training environment in MAGTF Tactical Warfare Simulation (MTWS) and Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS) or replacement systems when acquired.  These constructive training environments support training units’ area of operations orientation and immersion of currently deployed units.  Construct these simulation models to allow training units to exercise specified T&R tasks.  The specified tasks encapsulate a broad spectrum of combat, expeditionary, and enabling operations in unilateral, joint, and coalition campaigns.  Build the database, terrain, and parametric data that become the center simulation hub in supporting the common tactical picture (CTP) / common operational picture (COP).  Provide the simulation architecture for parallel aggregate and high resolution simulations.

Coordinate and plan the integration and operation of MCTOG simulation models in support of virtual constructive environments in accordance with the exercise design.

Administer, operate, and maintain maneuver simulation models in support of virtual constructive environments.

Instruct maneuver simulation models in support of virtual constructive environments.

Research and implement new technology capable of modeling technology employed in modern-day battlefield (e.g., UAS).

Construct and maintain all required databases for constructive simulations.

Identify, appropriately acquire, and integrate required map and terrain data for constructive simulations.

Travel regularly throughout the operating force and supporting establishment in support of research, development, demonstrations, and training exercises.

Support the building MSELs and scripting.


  • Working knowledge of C2, information assurance, and information systems to include formal military instruction. 
  • Knowledge of military operations and organizations to include military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships.
  • Ability to research complex issues and develop comprehensive reports.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Possess self-motivation and a high level of discretion to work effectively under a minimum level of supervision.
  • Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree is required. Bachelor’s degree is desired.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience required in the following:
    • Operation
    • System Administration
    • Military training/education
    • DOD modeling and simulation, and demonstrated experience with MTWS, and other simulation models such as JDLM, ICODES, JMPS-E, JCATS, JSAF, OneSAF, CBS, or JTLS. C2: BCS3, CLC2S
  • Certifications per DODINST 8570 required:
    • CompTIA Network+
    • CompTIA Security+
  • Completion of a military level career school preferred, officer or NCO.
  • Real world operations participation in deployment and employment command and control methods and systems for ground combat, aviation, supporting arms, and combat service support units desired.

Physical Demands

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Typically, employees sit comfortably to do their work, interspersed by brief periods of standing, walking, bending, carrying papers and books, and extensive periods requiring the use of computer terminals to accomplish work objectives.

Standard Work Hours

  • Garrison work environment including but not limited to: 
    • occasional field/tactical environments 
    • occasional extended working hours will be required 
    • schedule: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm 

Travel Expectations

  • Travel is estimated to be up to 30%.

Travel Schedule

  • Domestic travel may be required for training and program coordination.
  • May be required to travel OCONUS to conduct installation, training or maintenance. Accordingly, a valid passport is required.
